Heads/Cam gasket "kits?"
Hey guys-
This is the last puzzle of my heads/cam swap..
I have just about everything lined up minus the gaskets and the head bolts.. I'm going with ARP Head bolts..
Now, I'm wondering what gasket kit would be the best kit for me to pick up?
I am looking at the gasket setups Scoggin Dickey has here http://www.sdparts.com/catalog/lsgen...asketKits.aspx
and I am trying to decide which one is the best for me..
I've got a set of TSP 2.5 5.3L heads and will be running a TR224 112 cam..
However, looks like all those "kits" come with the GM head bolts and I don't want those since I am going with the ARP bolts..
Anyone know of a kit that includes all the gaskets minus head bolts?
Thanks guys..
Jeff

You need head gaskets, water pump gasket, front cover gasket, and front main seal. These are all the gaskets you should replace while you're at it.
Thunder racing has all of 'em. Make sure you get Cometic .040" head gaskets. They rock. No retorque required.

I've bought a lot of stuff from sdparts, good prices and customer service.
I'm installing the head cam gasket package from thunder racing at the moment. I ordered the gasket kit without the stock bolts and went with ARP bolts as well.
I also got a new cam retainer plate from the dealer that includes the built in gasket for the lifter oil galleys for about $20. Make sure you also get the new cam retainer bolts with the wider head if you go this route.
My cam gear had a few cracks so I got one of those from the dealer for about $40. It's an improved design from the original ls1.
