Default Using LS2 stuff in an LS1

I've been searching through the archives. I just want to confirm before pressing the "order button".

LS2 Lifter guides (PN 12595365) are priced each, so I must order four, correct? No problems using these in an LS1, correct?

Upgrading to LS2 Timing chain and cam/crank sprockets:

There is no "kit"? I must order the three pieces separately?
If so, the parts are:
12586482 Chain
12556582 Crank Sprocket
????????? Cam Sprocket? (Do I order LS1 cam sprocket or LS2 cam sprocket?)

I don't have either sprocket. When I got rid of the Crankshaft, I left the OEM Sprocket on there since I was getting a new crank and figured I was going with a Rollmaster double roller at the time. I gave the cam gear to someone on here some time ago.

I'm pretty sure that as far as the LS2 chain goes, all you need to order is the chain..

..If not, thunder racing sells the kit as a whole.

Yeah I need the gears too as I don't have the single chain parts any more.

2001 LS1 here. In the middle of H/C swap.

Here are the lifter trays I just installed, you need 4 of them:
http://www.sdparts.com/product/12551...ideLS1LS6.aspx

If you need LS2/LS7 lifters sdparts has a good deal on them as well:
http://www.sdparts.com/product/12499...esSetof16.aspx

I got the 12586482 LS2 chain from thunder racing.

I left the crank sprocket alone. My cam sprocket had a few cracks so I got a new one from the dealer. It's the LS2 design, solid piece (no holes): 12576407.

I wanted a new gasket for the cam retainer plate. The plate and gasket come together (only $21): 12556437.

The new retainer plate has counter sunk holes, no clue why. You need 4 new bolts with wider heads if you want to use the new plate: 11515756

Thanks. I already have the lifters. So I can use the new style cam sprocket will work? Do you have any pics of it?

My block is a 97 Vette block.

I don't know if any of my info is the same for a 97 block. I would ask the dealer to be sure.

I didn't take a picture of the new cam gear and I already have the cover on. I just found this though, very cool. Has a ton of pictures of LSx parts listed by part number.
