Are they really much better than bolts? I am gunna be running a boosted or sprayed motor(either 13.5 psi or a 200 shot) Do i really need em?

Basically, can factory main studs handle 13.5 PSI fine?

Then wait a few weeks/months...

a 200shot is a 200 shot and stock mains can take it, but 13 psi can be 600whp or 1000whp depending on the size of the turbo and the motor.

If it where me building the motor i would do it. You might regret it later.

There I said it. Go get studs. Trashing your engine because you skimped on studs will make me laugh at you. Just get 'em.

Are main studs a direct bolt in replacement..? I read somewhere that they aren't?

When ever use main studs imperative the block is align honed with them

My engine builder align hones even new LS factory blocks, all your block machine work is based off the main journal.

I got main studs for my 383 build. What the hell is a few more $$$ when building a motor like this.
