Default Lifter Question About The Notch

I have done a search and could not find the answer. I admit I am a newbie when it comes to LS motors. Set me straight on this and I can continue on with my buildup. I pulled the lifters this afternoon while installing my new cam. I noticed the lifters have a notch cut in them. Is this notch supposed to be up toward the inside of the motor or down toward the outside of the motor.

Thanks for any help you guys can give.

It does not matter, just install them so the roller rides the cam lobe properly.

Good enough. I just thought that there may be an upside or a down side to them. Thanks for the advice. I will procede only. The hole is what appears to be the bleed by the way.
