Great numbers Jason. I'm sure your car will back it up on the 1/4 mile dyno. Makes you wonder if its worth going all bore or 400+ ci. when you can get that kind of power out of a 346. Congrats.

Matt, all I did last night was go drive the car. I met up with some friends for a little while, but ended up spending most of time just enjoying my car again. 1 LS1 Trans Am and a Bullet Mustang went down easily. lol Beth didn't go to the club? She makes the Gold Club alot of fun.

Chad: I'll be heading out there Friday. They just don't prep the track worth a crap on Wed. BTW, I plan on shifting at 7100.

Thanks Mike. The AC is right next to your power steering and Gordo's AC... in the attic. lol

Hardtop: A 346ci is nice, but a larger motor would be more fun to drive IMHO. You could do a 422 with a mild hydraulic roller and this would be about the perfect street/strip setup.

DriveATransAm: The car's idle is set at 1050 now, but it can stand to be lowered. We just put the idle here before even starting the car. I'll have it lowered back to 875-900 this week.

Abdulla: I haven't actually done the math on the CI. I just consider it a stock rebuild with better pistons/rods.

The cam was choosen to be slightly easier on parts since I do drive the car everyday. The closing ramp on both lobes are pretty soft compared to other solid roller lobes. This should help with durability.

The rockers are 1.7 and the inj. are FORD/SVO 30lbs.

The heads were flowed on our bench, which has been known to read just a tad low. I wasn't too concerned about this since the GTP consistently make great power.

The only thing changed in the PCM from my last setup is the revlimiter at 7500 and the idle at 1050, which is going to be lowered this week.

I shifted at 6800 with the TR230/224.

Thanks Coach! Once we get your block back from the machine shop, it will be time for assembly.

lol Justin, just putting my fuel pump in and relocating my battery and then it will be time to really dial this setup in at the track. If you can, head out to NPR Friday and get some video.

Thanks Allan! You are the reason why I did decide to do another solid setup, just like you convinved me to do one last year. lol If not, I would have kept the TR230/224 in there. You can't beat the driveability and power the solid setup gives you. I'll try my best to give you a little 6-speed competition.

We have the lash set at .008" cold.

Nice numbers!

I'm suprised it made peak HP as high as it did with that small of a solid roller. What is your intake centerline?

My 383 LT1 with 251/251 @.050 peaked at 6,200.

Hey Jason, any way I could have a look at your current LS1 edit file? I want to see if there is a correlation between some things in the tables that seem to hold true for alot of heads/cam cars that i notice in a lot of dyno sheets

You would have to talk w/ Geoff @ Thunder regarding that.

That dyno graph looks like you would not have to shift above 7000 rpms to get the best out of it either. the moter should last a while like that . Atleast till the nos is installed

That's great Jason, the track times should be real good. I didn't know your car has been out of commission that long. I know how it feels, I forgot what mine looked like. Good luck getting tens this weekend.

That car is going to run like it's *** is on fire How often will the rockers need to be adjusted?

Sounds like a great setup .
A couple of questions.
What size tire are you running? A 26 or 28 inch? It looks like if you picked up 6-7 mph (6 for the hp, and 1 for the weight reduction) and .6 in the 1/4 you would be running ~128 mph. With the 26(26.2)" tire, you would trap at 7500, with the 28" it would be 7000. With your current setup peakng at 6500, the 26 inch tire seems just a little too small, plus it would be a bitch to try and hookup on (maybe on a 26x11.5). It would be nice to raise that peak 2-300 hundred rpm and be able to hook on a 26" tire.

I guess I don't really have a point here I was just thinking out loud about your gear/tire setup.

Are you planning on bringing it up to Hattiesburg anytime? It looks like I'm going to be back there for a few weeks and I have not made it out to that track yet.

Mark
