Default What else req. for 408

My LS1 is done and I am going to buy a 408 short block and put the stock LS1 heads on for now. Is there anything I would need to buy for a 408 swap? Is the harness different or I heard knock sensors are different. I searched the site but didnt see any real info of needed parts for the swap.

no harness adapter necessary and you can reuse your knock sensors. i guess you probably already know this but the 408 will really be restricted with your stock heads. you going to go ahead and put in a decent sized cam for when you put on better heads ?

I will put a decent cam in and hold off on the heads for a few months. A 408 isnt exactly a drop in the bucket.

Sounds like im in the same boat as you, im holding off on heads for now cause with heads you either gotta do a fast at the same time or the l92/l76 setup which adds up, but isnt too bad.

I did port my stock heads a hair though when i had them off, nothing drastic, but is should at least help with all that extra air coming in

if you are refering to the iron 6.0L blocks, everything will swap over. if you are refering to the aluminum LS2 block, then knock sensors and cam sensor are relocated.
