my engine was making a loud knocking sound and i took the passanger side head off and i noticed the piston had a pattern that matched the inside of the head. it wasnt hitting the valves just the head. any suggestions why this is happening?

stock engine btw 99 z28

Time for some new rods and bolts...probably spun a bearing and your piston is extending beyond the limit of the block.

 

That's what I was thinking man that sucks good luck atleast you can upgrade for a reason.

 

i dont see any damage to the cylinder wall does that mean it should be an easy fix. or will i not know till i open her up more?
