Default Cam application and suggestions

I plan on getting a cam and need some opinions if you think this combo would work.

First off, my car has LT's ORY, Hooker cat-back, Yank SS4000 stall, 3.42 gears, and a K&N. I will be getting a lid and bellow.

I want the car to sound stock.

I was thinking the MTI Stealth II cam. Do you think this is the best cam to suit my needs? I'm mainly concerned about top end power due to my large converter.

At the same time I am doing LS6 oil pump and springs. What springs would you recommend?

Lastly, my friend wants me to buy his slightly used crane aluminium roller rocker kit. This kit is the 1.8:1 ratio kit that includes the push rods (evidently it will add up to 20 h.p.). Would you recommend me getting this kit from him? Will this add H.P. but retain the stock sound of the vehicle.

And your best guesses:

The car runs 12.3 now with a stock engine, what do you think it will do with the mods listed?

How much H.P. increase should I see?

Like I said, the main concern is sounding stock and I want the most performance gains while doing so. If you guys have any other suggestions to a combo that would best suit my needs, please let me know.

Thank you.

Just wondering why do you want the car to sound stock?

You ever heard of the term sleeper?

OP: Just get a cam that has -° of overlap and you won't have that valve overlap chop that aftermarket cams have. LS6 cam is a good example. As well as a tasteful upgrade from a stock LS1 cam.

Basically, I would like to pull up to a viper on the street and be able to beat him, maybe picking up his girlfriend in the process. I would like to do that looking and sounding like a stock car.

To me, sounding and looking stock is worth the .5 seconds at the drag strip rather than sounding like a race car.

Will adding the 1.8:1 rocker kit change the cam specs and make it chuckle? Or is the chuckling due to the lobe seperation which will not be affected by the rocker kit.

It is not recommended to put 1.8 on fast ramp lobes with high lift. Crane lobes are lazy rate with low lift that is what theywere designed for.

Is .581 a high lift?

The cam specs are 224/220 .581/.581 116

If this combo wont work, what combo should I go with that would give me the most power while retaining stock sound?

Stealth II is a XE-R and will not work with 1.8

Yeah .581 is high lift.

I used to have a Stealth II, the best combo it liked was with milled ported 5.3L heads

But I ran it with 404 rwhp on a stock head, milled and with .045 Cometic. Final SCR was 11.2 IIRC. It is the fist cam that got me interested in reverse splits.

It is a good cam and a high spinner, don't expect to shift before 6600

#144HR00067 crane with 1.8's will work awesome. car will have slight lope, and will pull hard to 6400k, and pk at 6000k. 4000 stall is way overkill though.
