Bad pinging under heavy throttle?
I am running 91 octane...just noticed it a few days ago and I have 3/4 tank of fuel so it could have started once I filled up with gas. I remember filling up with 91 octane.
The car pings badly if I give anymore than 1/2 throttle. Will bad gas cause pinging? It has me worried. Almost sounds like a sloppy cam chain or something.

if you can audibly hear ping.. in your words.. BAD.. I would find a couple gallons of 100+ octane unleaded race fuel and fill it back up. Then go on a long highway cruise several times, and never go over 3k rpm's until that tank is EMPTY.
I say this because I had a bad experience with detonation. one of the dual intank fuel pumps failed in my GN at 18psi and full throttle (top of 2nd). I couldn't get out it fast enough and it spit 1/2 the crankshaft, 2 rods, the front of the block, the front cover, chain, etc.. through my oil pan and into the street under the car. It looked like someone put a grenade at the crank pulley and pulled the pin.
I learned something from that experience.
detonation = bad.
