I bought my car with ported stock heads and a small cam(.222/.222) I am very impressed with the power it made and it's on stock injectors. I am waiting to install my 30# and make a little more power.

IMO for the money you will spend on getting your heads ported and the other machine work done along with valves and springs you might as well spend a little more money and buy a set of heads already done and set up. I bought the PRC Stage 2.5 5.3L CNC Ported Heads from TSP for $1400.00 and bolted them on my engine. These may not work if you're running stock pistons with a big cam but my point is that you're better off buying a set of heads already done . I've heard good things about the patriots too!
