Default help with 500Hp LS1 combo

Ok here goes.. i have decided to ditch the single turbo setup i had planned.. and bought for my ls1 (if anyone is interested i have a setup for sale..) the reason to switch is that it wont pass DOT inspection.. so i need help with a combo..

the engine is an 02 ls1, and id like to keep the intake and if possible only swap heads cam (do flycuts in stock pistons..) run full length headers and no cats.. (only emission i have to pass is less than 3.5% CO in the exhaust at idle) port my TB..

how far will this take me? (we have 98 octane on pump) so im thinking milled 5.3 heads, long tube headers, 235 deg cam..

but id like to break low 12´s in a 79 BU

I honestly dont see that setup making 500 to the wheels without a power adder such as a blower or some juice. I think you will be more in the lines of 450ish with a good set of flowing heads and a good cam.

No, you'll need a better intake like the 90/90 Fast Setup too!

well 441 rwhp is just fine with me, thats above the 500 flywheel Hp i was hoping for, and will put me in the low 12´s high 11´s .. and the last 70 rwhp could come in a bottle..

with regards to the manifold, how much of a gain is it compaired to the ls6 allready on the engine (sorry im an idiot when it comes to these engines... )

and i know that the t70 im leaving off is the real ticket, but thre is no way that it will pass DOT with a turbo...

I'm hoping to build a new motor, but would rather start with the 400 CI engine. I kinda have to daily drive my car so I'll probably build it ove r the winter, still researching now. I was hoping to get 500 base hp and add a +100 NOS. More likely the funds for this year will get the heads, intake, TB & headers. Houses are too friggen expensive in Seattle....

A sheetmetal intake would be good if you wanted all your power to be in the upper range, but you will give up some in the lower and midrange. You also would need the heads and cam to compliment the intake or it would be wasted money.

ill try and fint that HR article... but with regards to intake, im sort of leaning towards a single plane and an elbow...

what heads to get are still a mystery to me, but it would seem that the single plane would allow me to run heads with flow above 280.. (saw some cnc ported 5,3´s with prety good numbers on ebay. but cant find them now)
