Default Can you put 02 ls1 heads on a 98 block??

Can you put 02 ls1 heads on a 98 block?? i got a 98 z-28 a buddy of mine gave a set of stock 02 heads... will i have a probleam, such as the water jackets,head gaskets or anything. thanks

Yes they will work but you need a set of 99-up valve covers, valve cover bolts, coil pack brackets and PCV system. 99 is the first year LS1's came with center bolt valve covers instead of the perimeter bolt design.

No sweat, just get your parts together and it should go with out a hitch.

i know about the valve covers thats not my main concren... its will they work right, i know alot of people who say it wont.

Every LS1 head is interchangeable, minus valve covers and such.

just put a set of 98 heads on my 99 TA...the only problem I had was setting up the PCV system...but some 3/8 fuel line took care of that....but I had no problems with the 98 valve covers or coils...
