Default need help with lq4 swap

Im just got a 03 lq4 for my 82 z28. I need to know the cheapest way to get the compression up ( mill heads, gaskets? etc.). Also would a ms4 work in the 6.0 and does the lq4 intake flow like the lq9 intake? I have a 4" cowl so clearance is not an issue. Or should i just save money for a set of heads and 90/90. thanks

What are your goals? Are you putting in a cam? The LQ4 and LQ9 use the same intake. More info needed. Milling in my area is $35.00 per head. Cometic head gasket $70.00 each.

Yea goals would have been nice huh, its a street strip car. 80% strip 20% street. I was thinking of a ms4 cam, 4k stall th400 w/ brake. around 3,000 race wieght. I know that Cheap and Fast dont really go together but the car is already set up and runs lows 12's with a very very mild 327. I want to do the swap as cheap as possible for now and maybe upgrade to a 408 l92 set up in the future. So i was just thinking up the compression on the lq4, ( buy milling and gaskets) and keeping the ugly intake with a max effort cam and long tubes. I just dont know how much to mill the heads or what size gaskets to buy to get the most comp. out of the stock lq4 short block and not have any piston to valve issues. Sorry for rambling and hope that helps.

Since you are leaving it a truck engine I would go over to the truck forum. The intake on the truck is built for low end torque, not high RPM's, so the cam and head work will be different then the car setups.
