Default Reman crank should I worry?

I run a 99' LS1 in my rock buggy..this past weekend I had it laid on it's side and turning about 6500 rpms for a minute or so (long enough to spin #4 and #6 rod bearings. I pulled the crank last night and sent to the machine shop today. It would need to be turned .40, more than I'd like. I can buy a reman crank from a local engine builders supply co. that has been turned .10-.20 , should I worry about this? would I be better off with a stock crank? Are there any resonably priced stock ones availible? Also as a second part to my question, is there anything I need to pay particular attention to when re-installing the crank? Pulling it out was pretty straight forward and I marked everything. I own a Mercedes repair shop and have built numerous motors over the last 20 years, just never one of these, any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I wouldn't be concerned with using the undersized crank. You also should replace any rods that spun bearings, or at least have them measured/inspected to see if they are okay. If the rods are worn or too far out of round they will need to be replaced because the cracked cap design doesn't allow re-sizing.

You could just buy a used stocker that had no issues when removed... plenty floating around for cheap.

I have one for sale right now in the classified section and I've seen them quite a few times. It's good to go according to my machinist and was pulled to rebuild the motor when I came upon a better deal for an ls6 short block, so I went that route istead.

Rebuild the whole motor while your at it. On its side spinning at 6500 RPM for a minute sounds really bad!!!

Thanks, I searched "LS1 crankshaft" in the for sale section and only saw a few for sale from months ago. I think I'm just going to go with the reman one and hope for the best. My rods seem to mic. out ok. I checked the cam etc.. and all else seems fine.
