No I am really not looking for a custom grind. I like the numbers from that Mega Death cam but that name scares me. HAHA I just want a nigh strong proven cam. Basicly someone who has my mods and did this very thing with LS1 heads.

I am looking to do the same as Teddy. My question is which TR224/224 or 227? I never run the strip but love twisty roads. I am setup for handling and have done what Teddy is doing. I do not spray. If I want a little lope do I go with the 112LSA? Not hijacking just need the same question answered.

You can pretty much write off the MegaDeath cam as well mannered. At 244/242 .612/.610 and 112 LSA, it has 19 degrees of overlap.

If you are serious about reaching 420rwhp as in ArklaTexan's signature, you will be more likely to get there and have good manners with a set of heads. The cams required to get to that kind of power level are usually a little more harry than 'well mannered'.

In the 390-400rwhp zone, there a few more options. Thunder Racing's TR230 reverse spilt is a good choice, and has been proven to around 400rwhp through an A4 with all the bolt-on's. At only 5 degrees overlap, it has a definite lope to it, but not excessive. Moving down the scale, the TR227 has -3 degrees overlap, for even better manners.

If you run a mild set of heads, nothing with excessively ported runners, and an even milder TR220 cam, you should be able to reach your goal with more torque on the low-end and better manners all the way around.

Anyone is more than welcome to come and drive my goat if they don't believe me. I had never had a cammed car before or a seriously fast car before. My car is a 6-speed and even with this cam I still would not say its too large. It has great road manners.

what exhaust system do you have? If you make 315 rwhp NA, it appears that you have stock manifolds. A 224/224 112 cam is a great all-around cam ASSUMING you have headers.

My turbo cam has very good street manners, but makes makes excellent power down low and up high and excels on nitrous:

224/230 .609/.604 113LSA +2

You will want more of a split in your exhaust for best performance on nitrous. The turbo cam is a great compromise.
