Is there anyone of the cams (manafacture) that is better than the rest or should I base my purchase on reputation and price (value) This is the cam I will be buying just don't know from who. Need honest feedback.

Just either order one from TSP or TR & be done with it. I believe both will be ground by Comp anyway.

While they are both ground by Comp TR has proprietary lobes (I don't believe anyone else is "allowed" to use their lobe design). That being said the two are within a few HP of each other and neither is a "bad" choice. I LOVE my TR224!

As stated Comp grinds both TSP and TR's 224's. The TR lobe is propietary and is a tad less aggressive than the XER lobe.

If you are going to go mail order, you probably have the two best recommendations already.

If you are looking to buy local, check and see which of the board sponsors is closest to you. You may be better off looking to see what kind of package deals they offer, and whether they can dyno tune the car (afterall, they should know their package better than anyone else).

I have a Comp 224 with 581 lift unlike the 563 that the TR224 has. Sounds nice and pulls hard. I am happy with it.

Check out Speed Inc.'s Comp 224/224. I made 385 rwhp through a 12 bolt and 4.11's. It's very nicely mannered on the street and makes decent power.

It's not gonna be the 224/224 or the 114LSA that will be the difference. It's in the lift numbers. The .581 & .563 cams are are ground different. I believe it's the .581 cam thats ground on the EXR lobes which are more aggressive & have a higher ramp rate.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

IIRC - the rate is pretty close to the same between the TR lobes and the XE-R lobes, which is why they do make good power.

Fact is, you really can't go wrong with either one. I'd be surprised if you could quantify the difference between the two of them without a back to back engine dyno. Even at that what is .018" lift?

The XE-R lobes are more aggressive than the lobes used in the TR cam. Both are good cams, but I would go with the XE-R grind personally.

Do a search on the TR224. It will out preform the others.
