maybe you can get the torquer cam exchanged for a 224 or a 228.

then you'd still be very close in power, and there'd be NO WAY one of those cams would not fit. the cams are the same price, and even if you couldn't echange it (which it would be very nice if you could) you could sell it as almost new and get 85% of the price back.

sorry to hear about that. Unless you had it comming for prior incidents..... she needs to jet for leaving you over 3 or 4 or 5 grand. If my wife divorced or wanted to leave me over money... that simply means that she loves money more than me. It is not like you lied to her or something, right?

As far as the setup.... did you buy the cam from TSP? Did you send the cam back to them to get doctor'd?

Hoping she didnt love money more than me. I just think the fact that i work second shift and we are never together and **** like this just pushed her over the edge.
As far at the cam goes I wanted to send it back , Jason told me to hold off because that would just cost me more labor charges.
So i just send back the heads.

I would check P/V clearance again once you install the heads back.
I wouldn't use clay however. Do it the right way and measure how much clearance you have. TSP basically moved the valve up in the head taking the valve further away from the piston. They moved it 20 thousands. The last time I installed a T3 with stock heads if I remember correctly I had 90 thousands on the intake and 105 on the exhaust. (been over a year so I would need to verify that for anyone to take those numbers to the bank.)
Now their head is within 5 thousands of stock but they moved the valve to free up an extra 20 thousands, which means now the combo should be at least 15 thousands better then stock P/V. If my numbers are correct that should leave you over 100 on the intake and 120 on the exhaust. Which is way more than enough to clear. and even enough to run the .040 gaskets and clear. Be sure to check though because if there is a problem somewhere (cam installed wrong, block being decked and now the piston stick's way out of the hole somehow, the heads being stock but someone pulled them off and milled them 50 thousands) or whatever crazy things could have happened. If there is a problem somewhere and not in the heads or the cam then you could still have P/V issue's.

Sorry to hear about your problem's. I will say that you should have checked but I understand why you didn't, your assumed it was going to be 100%.

Good luck with your project and personal life.

Default Yeah

Everyone on here thinks I am tryn to smear jason or tsp that is not the case at all . Jason what always nice to me and never got pissy with me. Yeah when the pulled the motor back apart after i installed the cam the tech said it was dot to dot, I wanted to get a picture of it but before i could the had pulled everything off and out of the way to degree it to make sure. The pistons cam outta of the head .005 on all of them . Witch i believe .007 is the normal. I just dont understand what it ran fine all the way home and the just up and happened. Some posted I over revved the car < but come on i am not a stupid hot headed kid. Beside i am still on the break in peroid of new clutch and tranny. Man we have measured and remeasured. I look at pushroods with are 7.4 and all the lifter seem fine . The where the new ls7 that Jason reccomended. I for the life of me why would it have only been one cylinder that hit . I dont understand?

Oh i got one more question the put stock gaskets back on and maybe ran it 2 minutes before the shut it back off am i ok to use those?
I am hopping her will let me make a few payment on it and still take it that way i can take back the rental car.

I'm confused. How are there labor charges if you installed it yourself? Also, are the heads milled? I hope everything works out for you. I will probably be in your position with the ol lady here shortly when my tranny/rear end go.

Sorry JRP. Hope everything works out for the better.

So how do you actually check for PTV Clearances without using clay?

The best way I have found does not use clay, test springs, dial indicator, or any really specialized tools with the exception of a way to remove and install the valve springs, a rubber band, and with our non-adjustable valvetrains an adjustable pushrod. Simply remove the valve springs, wrap the rubber band around around the valve stems snugly so that they can not fall too far into the chamber. Then simply hold the valve up firmly seated (you may want to install the retainer with locks just to grab on to), tighten the rocker bolt, then adjust the adjustable pushrod to eliminate any slop between the rocker and the lifter cup (remember, unless you have a solid lifter replacement, all you have is a light spring pushing the lifter cup against the retaining lock so you will not want to adjust the pushrod to long or it will be either compressing that spring or pushing the valve you are holding up with your fingers down, which will throw off your measurement). Once you have everything adjusted where you have no preload but no play then you can relax you grip on the valve, allow the valve to drop, turn the motor over slowly until the piston comes up and starts to push the valve up, watch while the valve is being pushed up the pushrod will be pushing the rocker and moving the tip of the rocker closer to the valve, once they get the closest stick a feeler gauge in there and measure your p/v clearance. Easiest way I have found and much more exact than clay.
