No, it should be fine as long as your motor is in pretty good condition.

If you have a 98, 99, or early 00, you want to change the rod bolts if you are going to routinely spin over 6500-ish, which with these big cams you want to because they will be spun to 7000+. Late 00's, 01's, and 02's had their rod bolts upgraded at GM, and they are fine spinning to 7200.

Probably be OK, but you would need sticky tires because 1st gear with the 3.73 gears and a 4000 stall plus ~370RWTQ at 4000 RPMs will eat up some street tires.
