Default F13 install done!

I just finished installing my F13, PRC dual springs, and Comp Cams 7.400" pushrods in my SS. I started the install at 11:45am, and just finished at 9:15pm ... with the occasional breaks for lunch and water. She fired right up, but needed a little help to idle under 1000 rpms. No biggie as tomorrow I will do a cold start log and begin the idle tune, thank god for HPTuners RTT. It was one of the simplest installs I have done, although I have done several truck cam installs , it helps to have air tools though. I will see about getting a video of the idle after I get a rough tune on it so it can idle on it's own.

Nice! This means my tune for my El Camino should be spot on also. I've been meaning to bring it by there for the tune but money has been tight lately man. Might be early to mid January before you guys see me. It will be well worth it though, as around that time i'll be running to AFR for some 205's when my tax refund comes

mrhzk35404, what is the before and after? I plan to dyno after I get the street tune done. Then off to the track to see the gains versus no cam (see sig).

Those are the heads I plan to use on my SS as well, I will probably leave them as "out-of-the-box", since I am not going for record numbers. No worries, we will accomadate you when you are ready.

My old Z28 went 7.4xs on motor and put down 381 RWHP through the A4. It's a great cam and drives awesome

Enjoy

I hope to hit 380 as well.

Here is the start up idle video, just small tweaking of the idle (RAF) table. Surprisingly, it is idling with pretty much the stock settings, only the idle rpm (750) and RAF tables were altered.

Well, back to tuning. I need to get the fuel sorted out as I purposely made it run rich.

It's OK, it is relevant to the thread ... you posted after numbers from your cam install, which I (among others) were curious about.

Cool man, did you do an oil pump or timing chain with it? J/w...I'm probably going with this same cam.

Sounds great...not to rough, but you can definitely tell it's something in there!

I had already installed an LS2 chain and oil pump when the LQ4 went in. That is probably why it went so fast (the cam install).

Thought I would bump this back up, and update with the tuned idle video I promised (or see sig for the link).
