Look for a daily driver you can go with a HOTCAM, with my cam only car with the mods in my SIG I made 406HP AND 378TQ, THE sound is awesome, and I dont have to worry about valve springs. I in the summer when I got the Ac blowing at full blast ti wont die out!
Now if you like it go for it, and you will be getting all kinds of crap like go with this and go bigger. And when you do decide what you want upgrade everything since you will be going in there ie, pushrods, oil pump, timing chain, and valvesprings. Here is alink of my idle link for you.

Go bigger than a hotcam, you'll make more power. Patriot has a new grind out, a 226/230. That's a very good one, and I drive my 228/232 every day, thunder racing and patrick g specced it out for me as a good cam only cam for the street.

not sure why you'd want to gimp yourself with a cam that only has .525 lift when you can throw in a new set of 918's and go with around .600 lift. The new comp 918's laugh at the XE-R lobe profile.

Are you an A4 or an M6?

Wow, on a Mustang Dyno? That's pretty impressive for such a small little stick. I know you aren't physically gifted in that area but did you have to torment your car too??

If the hotcam made more power than bigger cams, everyone would be running hotcams. It's pretty simple, more air in = more power, and there are a lot of cams that get more air in than a 218 degree lobe with lazy ramps and .525 lift.

There are many cars out there that daily drive with big cams. It's all in the tune and the tuner. If this will be your weekend "toy" when you get your daily driver, like you said, then I'd opt for something a little bigger. Sometimes people go with a TR224 or something smaller and wish they would have gone a bit bigger. I'd recommend a G5X3. Whatever you do, don't get an MS3 or MS4. Good HP numbers, yea, but the torque is really lacking.

I am impressed with a cam only making 406rwhp and 378 ft lbs of torque!
I am not trying to brag! I made 393 without the fast90, if you look in the dyno threads alot of guys make 39? or 41?, with BIG AZZ CAMS and heads.
If you pick up the new GMHTP magazine for example you will see the Road course NBM SS project just got patriot heads and Patriot CAM,(dont have the MAG in front of me) and 4? pound injectors. He dynoed on a Dynojet 41? hP and 38? TQ which dynojets typically dyno a little bit higher than mustang dynos. I am simply giving someone MY opinion, unlike You. Not bragging but if they are looking for 400 HP (on an 01-02) maybe all they have to spend is 450 or less for a hotcam, instead of 2500 or so for cam and heads. Just like you are always giving someone YOUR opinion DONT DO THIS AND DO THIS, seems like you are always there to BASH my opinion, yes I am a very satisfied customer of StraightLne for the TUNE, SpeedInc for about 80% of my parts, SO WHAT. Doesnt mean I am kissing their AZZ!!
TRY getting to know me a little bit, I go the Car shows in WESTmont on fridayz in the summer!

Do research, read, listen to sound clips. If you've been on this site any time at all you know how many "what cam" threads there are already. You can figure it out without starting a new thread in which you tell nobody anything about your car nor what you want out of the cam other than aggressive sound.
Pay Patrick G. $25 and he'll tell you exactly what you need.

Yes I do agree there are NEWer cams out there from ms4's to cheater cams, Im just throwing my experience with what I got.
My best times were a 12.7 or something during the summer with me slipping the clutch you know as well as I do that Route 66 loves 10 bolts and on a coppers salary with a mortgage and 3 kids in private school a 9" or 12 bolt is a far cry! To me its just a lil weekend toy. And if it breaks it will be parked for a little while!
It weighs like any 01 TA with ttops and leather.

I don't believe dynos. I believe in mph in the 1/4 with the car's weight and the DA for the day known. I especially don't believe in comparing 2 dynos from different parts of the country.

For example Patrick's AFR/big cam 346 that broke 500rwhp went to another dyno and put down 440-ish. But it traps 125+ full weight.

Ok I see... Well hopefully next spring after an Ls7 clutch I'll be able to launch a little bit harder!
