Default 370 v/s 408. what to do?

Just wantin to know if anybody has run a 370 at 11.5:1 comp. and what kind of power it makes. If i do a 370 it will be a 10cc dome 6.125 alum.rod stock crank, does anybody know what the stock crank(lq9) will really handle? ive heard 1000+ horsepower but i dunno.. Who can i get a good price on a 408 kit from???? Any help is greatly apprieated...

The stock crank is a nice piece. I think some of the FI guys are well into the 900 rwhp teritory with them.

i would say go 408. overall to make the same power, you wont have to spin as high and you will have more tq. with a street driven car id have to say 408. they make similar rwhp numbers, but the power band is much broader.

My buddy Jeff had a 370 with Patriot heads, a comp 248/254 cam on a 110lsa, and full bolt-ons, and he mad 480RWHP /436RWTQ through a 9" with 3.89's. 1 3/4 headers, B&B catback, and a cutout.

An engine with more cubes will give you more low end torque and would not take as much to make the same power number. The stock crank is a good piece, this is all going to depend on your build and power goals.
We are having a sale on all of our engine packages. Shoot me a pm or email and let me know more specifics on your build and I can see what we can do to suit your needs.

remember guys im runnin a 275 drag radial class in a pickup! I dont think all the tourqe will be a good idea for my particular setup " but please correct me if im wrong" its on the bottle and i really need the power on out ,im 60' with these guys with my lil motor but they have about 10mph on me out the back door im tired of watchin them go by me 3/4 track. As far as a driver it is not i do the 20 or 30 mile cruise and maybe a short trip to town but that is about it so i think alum. rods will be ok . stroker kits are well over 2 grand + all the block and ballance work which ill have to do anyway and this is somewhat of a budget build plus it will only have ported 317s and a hyd roller cam. But im open to options let me know. It will cost about $700 more to do a 408 and thats alot where i come from....Tryin to get the best bang for the buck at about $3000.00+or-..
