Default Doing it all at once - LMK what you think

I have a LS1 '04 GTO A4 w/ 19000 miles. I'm pulling the engine & tranny & doing all my mods at one. This will not be a DD car but I do want good street manners. My goal is ~450hp at the wheels. My budget is $5000. So far this is what I've come up with. Let me know what you think, pro/cons, what else I need, etc...
--------------------------
custom made cold air intake
85mm SLP MAF
90mm TB (TSP or Holley)
FAST or the new Weiand intake (I can wait if they are worth it)
36lb or 42lb injectors
Patriot Performance ported 243 heads with gold springs
Patriot Performance 225/229 .580"/.590" 114 cam
New pushrods
thin style head gasket (tighter squish, increase CR a bit as I'm looking for 10.5 -10.75)
new LS2 timing chain
new LS6 ported oil pump
NGK TR 55 or TR6 plugs
160* SLP t-stat
new 8.5mm plug wires

1.75" pacesetter LT headers or a used set of SS headers
3" dual exhaust w/ crossover, bullet style mufflers, & no cats

2600-2800 stall for the tranny (3.46 or 3.55 12-bolt posi)

complete dyno tune by Mike Norris in Orlando when done (recommended tuner & close distance)

why such a small stall? you would be okay with the stock ls6 intake, maf, and lid with the cam you have chosen. it would be okay to get the fast if you plan on going big in the future.

Add another $1000 to your budget. You WILL go over it, no matter how much you plan, some **** will always happen.

But it should be a fun car when you're done!

Cool, a big coin to drop all at once. Save money and stick w/ a LS6 intake, CAI, p/p TB, and stock MAF. BTW are you doing all the work yourself? I don't see you staying within the budget if you're not.

He don't have a lid there buddy. Its a GTO.
I would opt for a different cam though. I looked into that setup but I don't like that cam. It should put you close to your goal though.

Stick with the stock MAF seems to be the consensus.

Yes I'm doing all the work myself. The GTO has been hit in the rear so I'm taking all the good stuff out & swapping it into a 1970 Trans Am.

Small stall b/c I want good streetability & don't want to spend a fortune. I hate riding in my friends car & waiting to go at the light. Light turns green, engine revs, we crawl forward... I will say it is a cheaper brand converter though. Some of the better, higher stall converters that are tight on the street but also have a good flash point are $$$$$$$$. What would you recommend, brand & stall speed wise?

The stock LS6 intake will be enough to feed the engine with the ported heads & cam? I have heard the ls6 intake is good to ~265-270 cfm. At the min I would port match my LS6 to the new heads. The FAST intake flows better & is a proven bolt on power maker. I'm hoping that new Weiland is all it's cracked up to be b/c $650 is a LOT cheaper than a FAST setup!

What's up with the cam? What don't you like? I was also thinking about Comp Cams XER273HR 224/230 .581/.588 114 or the TR224 but they are all so close.

ive got a 3600 vig and it takes off great. in a heavier car a 3000 would be good. i was going to buy a fast setup but after seeing this:
http://www.gearchatter.com/viewtopic10974.php
i decided it wasnt worth it untill i went with a stroker. the xer273hr is the cam i went with. ive got it in a 6.0 and it hauls ***, even though ive got 2.73 gears and ive got the stall selected for 3.73s. only thing about my cam is my cam card lists different specs than comps website and everyone else. for some reason mine says 224/230 .581 .592 114.

not to go off topic, but what is with some of the retarded people on here wanting to call everyone buddy.

Good info from that link.

Vig = Vigilante? Aren't they like $700?
I was looking at the Yank 2800 for $425. The 3000 $525

what does the ta weigh? i know when i had a 6500lb truck the best stall was a 3000. 2800 might be good in a 70s tank.

I would put at least a 3200-3400 Vigalante stall in there. My Camaro weights 3400 and
I weight 275 and it pulls me around on the street like stock till I nail it. Your choice Vigalante,Yank or whatever but when it comes to convertors you get what you pay for and you don't want to cut costs in this upgrade. I run Vigalante so thats all I can recomend to ya.

Not sure what the weight is? Lighter than stock, that's for sure

Are there any good ones in the $400 - $500 range?
Who has the best prices for Vigilante? And yes, you do get what you pay for...
