As mentioned above, or on page one, you can see the missing section of valve seat here. Makes me glad we put in beefier seats prior to opening up my valves to 2.02"s Althoug a lot of people run stock seats opened up for bigger valves. My builder said he didn't think there was enough meat on the stockers (with 2.02 are larger) for good thermal transfer.

alright I put this up right before work so I didn't give more details. The car has been running funny for the last 8 months or so. Thought something was wrong with a lifter, and then just thought I was making it up, so I blew it off. I was going 40-45 the car was at about 1500 rpm when it happened. I can't figure for the life of me what could have gotten sucked in, but that was my guess also. here are some more pics the odd thing is that on the head there is a mesh pattern imprinted on the head. The valve is totally bent to **** but there are not any valve markings on the piston so the valve hit what it was in the motor.

So it looks like you just need to have your heads reworked to have it up and going again. That's not to bad. Well its a whole lot better than throwing a rod or spinning a bearing anyways.
BTW- The Beaner Power joke was ****** great.

It's been a long time since I had a screened MAF so I forgot what the mesh/honeycomb looked like. I wonder if you sucked that up. I'm sure it's happened before. It's a pretty thick piece of aluminum.

I think the pattern is wrong...that is a screen would have an indent where the outline is and the valleys would be the high spots. His heads have the center of the little parallagram marks indented and the outlines are a higher...does that make sense? Look at the picture of the vise...looks supicous to me, unless like I said, his framing hammer is missing from his tool bags???

WOW!! Well the location on the piston is in the quench area of the head, so that's why it is squished like that. It makes sense looking at the head as well.
The question still remains, what got into that cylinder, and where did it come from. I'd be concerned that there may be more of where that came from. Check the under side of the intake manifold. Look at everything and see if there's something missing. Eventually we'll get to the bottom of this.
The good news is that it looks like all you need if a fresh piston and exhaust valve.

Those paterns looks like something that had been Knurled, like the end of a tool, a wrench or something. Have you been working on the car, Has the heads been redone (knurled the valve guides) ?
Do you still have the Cats on ? How about taking the exhaust system apart and maybe you will find something in front of the Cat ?
With all of this damage, time for a stroker or something !
I would not feel good thinking about getting on it with knowing that the engine has been hurt before. (if you just change the piston and head).

Thas what I was thinking, who worked on this last and what was done? Someone obviously left something in the intake tract or a bolt fell into the intake while it was off the car and not noticed. Was the intake off in the last 8 months since you said it started acting up? What does the intake port look like?

intake port is fine. the intake has never been off. I worked on the car about week and a half ago just changed the maf housing cause I took the nitrous kit off but I had a rag in the tb opening and checked and recheck all my tools are accounted for.

The knurl on that looks almost exactly like the brass lugs that are pressed into the intake. Its the ones that the throttle cable bracket and TB bolts screw into. You might check and see if any of them are missing. I don't know exactly what they are called but I'll see if I can find a pic of one.

well here's my guess...
did you use one of those schrader valve removal tools anytime lately? I'm looking at a pic of it and it's got a similiar mesh pattern on the side of it, and the little tube sticking out the top kinda looks like the shape inbedded into the piston... it's definately small enough to get sucked up into the intake... my best guess...
