an oil pump is an oil pump...so long as it pumps oil u should be good. you can get a ported one though if you want.

The ported oil pumps that TR sells are actually LS6 oil pumps; makes me wonder if GM saw that the LS1 pumps could be improved upon.

I ordered the TR Ported Pump to go with my TR cam package--from what I understand a ported oil pump is not exactly rocket science to machine and since TR has done such a great job with everything else I have ordered from them, I went with theirs

i bought an SLP unit ....it produces more pressure than stock....

The porting consists of adding some shims to the pump gears and polishing some of the surfaces...

The prting takes care of the block off valve issue. Stock valves stick and can cause very low oil pressure which in turn causes a boom,.

well lets see if it is a tr 224 i reccomend the slp, but if it is a 220 then the katech

I was told by a known sponcer here that the LS1 and LS6 pumps are the same with the same part number

From I believe '01 and up they are the same.

I kept my stock pump. I've an 02 Prior to O1, there were some problems.

I've got the TR 224 + stuff in a box, at home, waiting...waiting...

I thought that too but in another thread where I tried to verify this, someone said their 2001 pump failed also!!
