Default help me fixx thisss!!

ok i have noticed a spark knock only from about 4500 to 6k rpm. THis is on a 2001 camaro z28 with just full intake and exaust. I run 93 octane all the time and it still does this. if i put 100+ octane it wil stop for the most part. WHY IS THIS? it seems like this is weird for a stock mapped car. What should i do to get rid of this damn spark knock so i can spray

This sounds crazy but i would try to seafoam the car. How many miles are on it? Carbon build up could be a possibility. anyone else wanna chime in?

Whatever you do... DO NOT SPRAY THE CAR IF YOU ARE GETTING CONSISTANT KNOCK! Unless of course you want a reason to buy a new shortblock.

One of the reasons could be if you have a lot of oil in the intake and now have a lot of carbon built up on top of the pistons.

If you are getting oil in the intake through the PCV system, the reason you're getting knock is because the oil isn't helping your octane rating. Pull the throttle body off and see if you have oil on the floor of your intake. If you do, get a catchcan to keep oil out of the intake.

I had the same problem awhile back. started detonating from 4500 up. ended up just being some shitty gas. It took 2 tanks to clear it out.
