Overheating Have a problem with overheating this AM; car is parked a few blocks away.
No leaking
Reservoir has antifreeze
Fans are on.
What could this be?
Loose idler pulley?
bad thrmostat?
Other?

thermostat not opening or water pump is bad. you can test the thermostat by boiling it with a cooking thermometer, it should open at whatever temp its rated. if it opens then you need to see if your coolant is circulating.
Thermostat would be the 1st item to check along with the Water pump. Check the Radiator cap that it is not leaking coolant or air and the it is still operating at the correct pressure (15-16lbs)
It is possible that you have any air pocket in the head, drain 1/2 of the coolant out and refill the coolant by the to radiator hose (take it off from the upper radiator side of the hose). Once you have fill it from the hose, reconnect the hose and top off the radiator.
