Default which pistons to use for a 408stroker

Diamond Racing -2cc flat-top, -10cc dished, or -15cc dished piston set
or
Mahle Motorsports -12cc dished piston set

im planning to run the L92/76 manifold and heads by feb-march and maybe some nitrous in the summer but for right now which im just gonna use probably 706's o 243 o even 317 heads if which would be the best suitable pistons for the set

You need to decide on a head. That's going to determine what size dish you need. Obviously you're looking for a high compression engine. You're also going to have to get pistons with L92 valve reliefs if you plan on going that route due to the different valve angles.

They're not a 15* head?

i can't remember the angle(aren't ls7 heads 12*) but those huge *** 2.16 intake valves need a larger relief or ptv might be an issue with big sticks.
mahle - 12 cc pistons here. as long as you keep the shot 200 or less you shouldn't have any issues with them.

I stated a mistruth in my hastily typed out response. The L92 heads are indeed a 15 degree head like the GEN III stuff.

I agree with you on the large valves. But with aftermarket pistons surely he'd use the biggest reliefs possible. I'd put them in just to be sure they're there. It leaves options.

Exactly. If you plan on using pistons with normal valve reliefs with L92 heads you're going to have a lot less piston to valve clearance.
