Default Comp Cam in from Rapid!

Got a Comp Cam installed and tuned by Mikey at Rapid Motorsports! Went with Comp Cam 228/232/113 0.588/0.591 WOW, what a difference! WAY MORE pull through out the ENTIRE RPM band! Air/fuel ratio is right on too! Mikey knows his stuff! I gained 43 rwhp and 34 rwt at peak. However, thats not the best news. At 3,500 rpms I gained 45 rwtq. At 6,500 rpms I gained 55 rwhp! What can I say, Mikey knows how to tune! Now at 420 rwhp and 397 rwtq.

Car and existing mods were: 01 C5 with LS6 motor, Vararam intake, AR LT headers, high flows, GHL catback.

Those are a some nice numbers for that cam and supporting bolt ons. Do you happen to have a graph?

Great numbers. how's the idle (like stock or heavy lope), and drivability/low end torque? would it pass emissions? can you post a dyno graph? i really like those numbers for a cam only- i am trying to decide what mod to do for my ls1 GTO daily driver.

Driveability is GREAT! Its all in the tune though. I mean its on a 113 so I have a little bit of lope which is what I wanted. You can tell I have a cam, but its not crazy at all. Low end torque is great too! at 2,500 rpms i gained 30 rwtq. Again though driveability has a lot to do with the tuner and Mike at Rapid Motorsports can tune!

Yep. Mikey just put a fresh LS6 motor in my '01 SS. I was going to "leave it alone" but that idea didn't last long.
Dyno'ed about 415/412 thru a Moser 12 bolt with a heavy LS7 clutch.

Mikey knows his stuff and is trustworthy beyond measurement. Great guy to have on your side.

If he tells you something - take it to the bank.
