Default Just did camsprings/pushrods/shortys install, and now have blinking SES

So my mechanic just did a cam/springs/pushrods/shortys install last weekend and now the car feels sluggish and I have a blinking SES light. I did a search and most of the time it's a misfire of some sort. Do most of you get blinking SES lights after a cam install? Is it something that will just be cured with a dynotune??

I didnt ask my mechanic but I would assume he installed it dot to dot... it's not that hard, and he's done it on other f-bodies

I believe miss fires, go to autozone or have some one read the codes.

You can pick up the cheapest OBDII code reader from Pep Boys for about $60. Or have Autozone read the code for free if you can drive there.

I had a blinking SES light when I left one of the spark plug wires off. I had them all on and then took one off for clearance to put the AIR back on the passenger side, forgot to put it back on. It ran on 7 cylinders but rough.

So maybe you have a bad wire or cracked plug.

"Blinking" SES says your emissions are way over the FTP standard. So much so that if you continue to run the engine you stand the chance of damaging your catalytic converters(that is if you have them). There are too many variables here. You need to do some work with a good scan tool. Sure you can go to AutoZone and let them read your DTCs, but then what do you do? Do you know the troubleshooting procedeures for misfire DTCs? Do you plan to just throw parts at the motor based on the DTC you get at AutoZone? I hope not. That ain't troubleshooting. You need to monitor your pre-cat and post-cat O2s and your LTFTs and STFTs for a start. What about the misfires? Are you getting P0300 or is it specific like P0303 for example? More info is needed. This should not have happened with the parts you installed. Maybe intermittent P0300, but that's about it. Certainly not a blinking SES.
