PRC Head/Cam Combo advice needed (long)
I know this has been beat to death, but in all honesty I've done ton's of searches and haven't come up with any definite answers. So any help is greatly appreciated. I have a bone stock 98 Z28. Car is 6-speed with 55k. I have already ordered most of the supporting mods for a head/cam setup. Car will have full exhaust and intake.
I'm really looking for good low-end to mid-range power. Don't really care too much about 6k plus because I'm rarely up there. I also would like good street manners (aka no huge cams). I would like to get over the 400rwhp mark, and I would like to stay away from flycutting.
So my question is, what Texas Speed PRC head/cam combo should I go with? As I understand the 2.5 5.3 heads are good if you plan on running n/a, and the LS6 are better for the other applications. Can I expect more power down low with the LS6's or the 5.3's?
Also, I'm wondering if a fast setup would be overkill for what I'm looking for. Can I get away with using an LS6 or aluminum manifold? Or should I wait for Weiand's new street warrior?
Thanks for your input everyone, and thanks for taking the time to read my post.
