valvespring question

you need to change the springs and pushrods, rockers will be fine. you can get some comp 918s for cheap or the patriot dual springs for around $240, they come with springs, retainers, and locks. the duals are a good security blanket, if one spring snaps you will have another to keep a valve from playing pinball in your cylinder. then you can pick any kind of hardened pushrods.

gmpp makes a hot cam that comes with ls6 springs and they say you can run the stock pushrods for $415. the duration is 218/227, why is the intake so much less than the exhaust? and what would be the advantage of the tr224/224 over 218/227?

I'm thinking similar cam, just maybe the TR224 114, and I'm a newbie when it comes to LS1 mods....do you recommend going with 5/16" or 3/8" rods? Do you need to stay with 5/16" if stock rockers are retained. The Patriot dual springs look good. Would a change to the Patriot PN 2009 LS1 Stage II heads make sense to do?

A nice set of heads to accomodate the cam is always recommended. Heads that flow more than stock are never a bad idea per say but always get a set of heads that match the cam. Pretty parts are nice but only when they work together.
