what kind of power to expect?
I have an 02 SS M6 with a TR224 and boltons. Im making 381 RWHP and 375 RWTQ with a thunder racing tune. I plan on putting some AFR 205's and a FAST 90/90 combo on in a few months. I have a few questions though. How much should i get the heads milled? also what gaskets to go with? I'm looking for maybe a 11 to 11.5 CR. With a good tune what kind of horsepower should this combo make? Thanks,
Nick

Sweet car, thanks for the help. So if want anymore then 420 RWHP, then im gonna have to go with a bigger cam huh? Damn i really dont feel like fooling with that crank bolt again. What cam would give me around 460-480 RWHP with a FAST 90/90 and AFR 205's, but still have great under the curve power, (which is the reason i got the TR224)? I was thinking maybe a F13 or something. Thanks for all the input guys keep it coming,
Nick

i wouldnt mill the heads id just run a .40 mil gasket with them and anything in the low to high 230 duraration with 600 lift should get you around 450 if setup right and still make good power down low i make 430 on a stock 243 casting with a 232 234 cam

Man, i think you will do better than you think, and better than what alot of guys are telling you.
I am making 403/405 through a stalled A4.
G5X3 cam,bolt on's, unported LS6 heads,Ls6 intake..
Like the other guy said, you being an M6 should get you way above what some of the other guys are telling you.
you have a decent cam.. I would have the FAST ported to match the AFR's.. I think you will hit the 430ish mark easily!

thanks guys for all the input. I feel betterafter those last couple posts. Im gonna stay with my TR224 and see what i can do. Ill probably be happy with it. So i shouldnt mill the heads at all? I thought that it would give me more torque to get them milled.

I have a tr224 in an A4 with tsp stage 2.5 5.3 heads and ported 90/90 and put down 417rwhp and 407 rwt. I don't think you'll have a problem doing better than 415rwhp with an m6. Good luck to you

Thats the same thing im trying to do. I just got an LS7 clutch and now im saving up for a 12 bolt and a drive shaft. Then im doing heads and intake, then maybe a 100- 125 shot to top it off.

you will hit your goal with the 224 cam and understand why you dont want to switch out a good cam for another but that head and intake package is screamen for a bigger cam that car would be a monster with a 230 cam in it i know everyone says dont take out your 224 for a bigger one cause it is a proven cam but im glad i went with something bigger for my first cam with something in the 230 you can still have great midrange and scream up top my car has a great curve and rips from 3000 to 6500 anytime you run the car thats were your going to nee your power who races below that if it were me id throw a ms4 in thier and watch that 346 come alive but thats me what ever you do youll be pleased with the results good luck
