Stripped a rocker arm bolt... will helicoil hold?
I stripped out my head/rocker bolt after doing a valve springs swap. Will a helicoil hold or do I need to replace the head? Please help me. My car is a 98 with boltons and a B1 cam.

Jason, stock threads are alumuinum, they like whole head are t-56 heat treated, but not quite as good as stainless helicoil thread inserts.

10-4 on the helicoils. years ago I worked in a VW shop, and every air-cooled engine we overhauled got helicoils inserted for the cylinder studs. they worked fantastic, and I can't recall ever seeing one come back loose.
