Do I have Rod Bolt Ferrules?
I just got done searching for 1.5 hrs and could not really find a answer, hopefully someine out there know if my (built in may of 2000) vette has these ferrules? Also I do have 853 heads...Thanks

Look in the stickies. There you use to be a write up on rod bolt install.I think Pat G condensed them into 1 write up,but anyway I recall someone in that thread stating that in mid 2002 they put ferrules in,so you may have them. Also Im pm you.I have ?? about your cam

Yeah, I STILL haven't found a straight answer on what has ferrules and what doesn't. I was told my LQ4 was not supposed to have them, but did.
Either way, if the bolt snugs back up when you loosen it all the way, put a pair of vice grips on the head of the rod bolt and pull. It comes out fairly easy.

My 2000 LS1 had them. As was mentioned previously, they can be easily removed.
Also had the 853 heads. The 853 is cast into the head on the left end of the head, just below where the valve cover sits.
