Default not the first cam thread

ive read that many cam threads on here its not funny and still cant decide...
i had thought of a comp 224/228 on 112 but custom with higher lift. im just after opinions really, my cars a streeter first of all. i dont live at the track but going once in a while would be nice. i would like to have the best of both worlds really, great low to midrange and a great top end cause lets face it...i dont baby it and i spend alot time high in the rev range. that doesnt mean i want to rev it to 7000 though, at the moment my limiter is at 6500 and dont really want peak power past that.
my specs might help so here goes -
mcai & twin hole
k&n filter
gts maf pipe and boot
throttle body bypass
pac 918's
pacey 4>1 1" 3/4 headers
3" s/s high flow cats
twin 2 1/2" s/s remus race exhaust
ripshift (street)
tex x grip
pedders diff insert
std 3.46 diff gears, maybe 3.9's in the future
mafless tune - 235rwkw and 540nms at the moment

i did hope for 300 rw with the heads done but if i do them it wont be for awhile. 270ish would be nice
any opinions appreciated, opinions on cam makes would be appreciated also...
comp, come, clive, isky etc?

cheers guys

in american terms: He has 315 RWHP now, He said 360 RWHP would be nice, but hes looking for around 400RWHP. There are many different companies that have cams to suit your needs. I have a TR224 which is kind of a smaller cam but makes great under the curve power, which is what sounds like what you want. My peak power is 381 at 6000, so you dont have to rev the **** out of it. If you want a little more power than that maybe Texas speed 228R or maybe a Torquer v.2.

what he said...

the TR 224 is ideal for your goals...and the 228R would be the next step up to give you a little more power.

even budget heads should get you up to your "high" goal.

thanks for the replys guys
i dont want to go to overboard with the lift as i would prefer a nice thump over excess valve train noise. where would the limit be?
570ish?

does anyone happen to know much about the isky 227/230 112 with around 580/590?

dont really know about the isky cam but, the specs on the TR224 are: 224/224 .563/.563. So if you want under .570 lift, there you go.

ok. Well i have comp 918's and TR hardened 7.4 inch pushrods and ithe only way to hear the valvetrain is to open the hood and put your ear next to the engine. Its nothing like what i hear in some of the videos of people complaining about it.

righto, alot of guys over here seem to go really high with the lift and they just dont sound as nice at idle. that said though i want to ring as much power and torque out of my ls1 as possible.
i dont want to spend my money and be dissappointed
the texas speed 220/220 is popular over here as are the comp 222/224 and the 224/228

The TR224 is really popular over here, but expect to get around 380 RWHP or less, which is still a good bit for a cam. My SS is my daily driver and is awsome on the street. Its pretty nice at the track too.
