Default head gasket problem

Assuming the head gasket was put on correctly.
Is it possible for the head gasket to literally Melt over into the water jacket?
On this nitroused engine the head gasket was literally covering all the coolant passages. We're wondering if that could be the reason the rod spun a bearing.

or if its because of valves not opening / closing correctly. (its in my other thread)

Thanks!

what heads??? There was another member not to long ago that found out his gaskets covered a couple coolant passages on his heads & it ended up being the heads not the gaskets that were his problem. The coolant passages were actually in the incorrect location.

I know thats a long shot, but with the heads off I'd lay another new gasket up to the head & ensure everything lines up properly.
