Default LSA ????s

Im gonna order a TSP ms3 cam after Christmas and was torn between what lsa to go with. The cam will be going in a 2001 A4 SS daily driver with longtubes and 3600-3800 stall. It is offered in 112,113,114. I was thinking about going with the 114 for streetable. Will I see a big power loss?? There will be nitrous on this engine if it matters...

Lower LSA will bring the powerband in earlier and have a choppier idle and be a little harder to tune. Why not compromise a bit and go 113. Many do.

IMHO if you have to open the LSA on a specific cam just for its prolly too big for you.

What is the reason for going with ms3? Why not go with new ms4?

THe MS3 is a lil more forgiving on the valvetrain. The MS4's intake side @ a .649 lift, it just beats the hell outta the valvetrain.

Thats y u do a valvetrain upgrade with your cam swap. The ms4 has much better low end tq compared to ms3. I called texas speed said ptv clearance was ok with stock heads and no flycutting. Get the prc dual spring kit with titanium retainers, ls7 lifters, ls6 oil pump, ls2 timing chain or w/e set up ur goin with and they explained everything would be ok. Just needs diff gearing and beings i had a 98 the pcm was a little harder to tune.

I would go 113 for the same reasons I did, a 113 will still sound choppy and its still good for nitrous. Ideally you want the 114 for nitrous but if a cam doesn't sound a little choppy then its no fun.

I have an MS3 on a 114LSA and it chops HARD.

I'm sure it does, 114s don't sound bad at all but I had a 114LSA before and I wanted something more radical this time.
