Long tube help Hey all I just got a set of long tubes and would like to know if any one has any hints and tips for instaltion. I am not a newbie I am an ASE tech I would like to knowany tips from people who have done it before.

www.ls1howto.com has a good write up on this (The C5 one is close enough...) definiately get some racheting box wrenches!
if you have access to a lift use it. a helping hand to start some bolts is a plus.
i would consider changing out the motor mounts while you have the exhaust down, much easier.
prothane mounts would be a plus. i've only got about 1\2" in spots between the Y-pipe and the floor, it does not leave much room for sloppy stock mounts and driving it like i stole it.

I followed installuniversity.com. Did mine with no lift. Back onto some rhino ramps, jack the front up as high as the jack went and put some jackstands in place. Then grab a BIG *** (I used a chunk of railroad tie) block and set it on the jack, jack that **** up again and reset jackstands. I got all the headers bolts from the top except the back one on passenger side, get this one from underneath. Same with installing new plugs all from top except pass. rear from bottom. I did have to notch the tab off the block about a 1/4"- 1/2". I did NOT have to notch the k-member, everycar/header will be different so you might not have to do either. Now is a good time to drill mod or wrap clutch line if your an M6 car.

Which brand of headers do you have?
With my AR headers I only had to remove the steering linkage and both headers slid right in with only 20" of ground clearance from my jack stands.
