Default Good pistons vs Better pistons

Can you see a noticeable whp difference by just swapping "good" pistons for a "better" pistons with same compression or even less compression than the "good" pistons on a N?A application?
This is just a general question, not necessary LSX engine related. I'm just want to get a second opinion on this matter.

"good" old design
"better" new design

no. better pistons may well live longer, seal better, or have other features to recommend them, but same or lower comptression isn't gonna result in more power per se.

Well it would have to be same "type" of pistons. Like flat-tops Vs flat-tops.
Otherwise yeah, piston design can have an effect on output depending on application used (like head chamber design, piston deck position, piston pin position, rod length etc....)

Depends on how "good" the old piston actually is. If your comparing an old piston design thats heavy, had a big ring pack, and/or didn't have the pin offset you'll see a significant difference with a really nice, technologically up to date piston.

How much of a difference percentage wise? 10%? The good pistons are custom wiseco and the better pistons are custom JE. This is just a back and forth argument in an atv forum between 2 engine builders.
