Default Custom grind using 1.85 rockers?

Hi Guys, i have been reading through the threads on here and come to the conclusion that i may be a tad small in the cam department...

I have a 383 stroker and i currentley have a Comp cam 222/224 (XR 275) ,
My other mods are-
LS2 intake with N Williams 90mm,
Dart 225 heads,
1 3/4" Custom ex manifolds with twin 2.5" system, no cats.
5 speed close ratio TKO 600 3.08 Ltd slip diff
Car weighs 2600lbs

But the main question is can a custom grind cam be used in conjuction with my 1.85 Comp Cam rockers? I already own these and are in my motor. It would be nice not to have to splash out on some more. I use the car as a weekender mainly, but when summers here i do use it for a bit of sales repping as it cheers the workday up a bit!

Thanks in advance

The Crane lobes are setup for higher ratio rockers and they have differing degrees of acceleration rate. You may be able to specify a cam for the higher ratio rockers based on this. PM "JPH" for more information.

Using the 1.85 ratio rockers over the 1.7's is only going to increase your cam lift at the valve. No big deal you can run them if you want.

i see you have a couple of choices.
1. keep your rockers and just get a bigger cam with the same xe lobes, i'd say a cam in the 23x-24x would be great in your lightweight beast !
2. get a set of stock ratio rockers and use a cam with a more agressive lobe design like an xer,xfi or lsk.
since you already have the rockers i would just get a bigger duration cam with the same lobes.

I would use alot bigger cam with not alot of lobe lift, since you can make it up with your rockers. 236/242 @.050 with no bigger lobes than .341 is were you want to be. Once you get up in the big durations @.050, usually the lobe lift goes up as well. Crane has lobes lifts from .324-.367, multiply that buy your rocker ratio of 1.85 and you can have lifts from .599-.678, so you have to be carefull when choosing a camshaft with your rocker ratio you have. Hope this helps.
