Default recommendations with 228R cam??

sup fellas i wanna do a cam swap with my 2002 WS6 m6. Will be gettin pacesetter longtubes shoryly. so far my mods are corsa cat back , and slp lid. Any guys famailar with this cam? TSP has a pretty good package deal for 700 bucks with the double springs. Do you guys recomment a aftermarket timing chain? oh ya car has 59,000 miles.

get an ls2 timing chain as well as the package. the 228r is a great cam for a medium sized cam and have a really strong midrange

Might want to get some hardened pushrods as well, and a Ls6 ported and shimmed oil pump.

Dont really need a new oil pump just shim the bypass spring and clean up the machine defects inside with a dremel.

If you have a little extra cash get the JWIS/Katech timing chain... it's THE best single chain you can buy. I'm running it, it's a quality piece.

my AFR heads are milled to 62CC and no need to fly cut.
I hear alot of people going to the LS2 timing chain. Its cheaper and good quality

It's a nice little upgrade for good measure and it would be a pain in the *** to do all that work again just to put one in, but its not necessary.

That cam is an all around great cam. Since it has high lift and XER lobes it produces lots of power. I had this cam on a stock set of 243 heads with dual exhaust and some tuning. Put down 422, 408 to the wheels. I plan to get either that or a 230 cam for my next car. I can provide you with a dyno sheet on that cam if you like.

m6 or a4??? That cam is pretty stout, and is well proven. I would def get a new oil pump, and an ls2 timing chain, cheap insurance.
