Default All forged ls1(98 ss engine type)

Alright so i just ordered everything for my fully forged ls1 it consists of a 4.00 callies stroked crank(texas-speed purchase)forged mahle pistons and rods with stock 02 trans am heads bought from a friend appoximatley 10.0 compression .Also my cam is a .228 .232 .595" lift on 110 lsa, conjoined with a ls6 type intake mainfold. I was wandering who may have this setup and what n/a power rating their engine puts out. My plans are to do turbo or supercharger later in the next year (2009) but for now im only interested in a non power adder set-up any info would be appreciated.

What bore for the pistons? I am assuming a stock or minor honed bore size. 3.905ish...
That being said, I would expect at least 400 horse to the wheels using a 383. Thats actually a decent cam for an NA build. But, the choice in cam might not be ideal for a turbo with that much overlap, using such a narrow LSA. This is a hotly debated theory though, and might prove to be incorrect. But for the longest time, people have been running wider LSAs, shorter durations, and more lift.. From what I have seen anyway.. Although, I do like the fact that you are using a reverse split, and favor the exhaust a bit...

Well redtail2426 and Brad Hutchraft thanks for the non smart *** remarks if i wanted some dumb fu#K smart *** to give me a comment i woulda asked. But back to topic. With the setup i got now(old setup) i had 392 rwhp and i know i know hp dont mean nothin maybe i shoulda said that before b/cause of the smartasses but i wana see what everbody else came up with after their setup close to mine. I just wana see what improvement im goin to get with the stroker hopefully a lot more than that 392 couase thats what i had before with a 98 LS1 intake and 98 flow stopper heads. Just questions is all i ask. I thought thats what this hole forum thing was about to listen and learn about these cars. ANd also the pistons are stock size and only heads and intake are gona be different from the setup i had before and the stroke of course.

with a 383, and only a slight improvement with the 241 castings, I wouldnt expect much more than what you have.. Its not the foundation, but the induction that is holding you back. And when you say LS6 "type" what do you mean? Is it an LS6 or is it something else? To be honest, there are too many variables that need to be answered with this, A more concise explanation of your engine would net you some better "answers" or more accurately, guesses.
But I say again, with the 241 heads, and extra cubes being your only improvement, I would expect a bigger increase in torque than I would in horsepower.

i didnt catch it was a stroker.I would guess.............415rwhp and 400 rwtq...
And because it is a stroker you should really try to do something with the heads as they will be a large restriction. You could pick up a lot of power with a set of budget heads like patriots or even ported stock castings. And with the 110 Lsa on the cam really try to get that compression to at least 11 to 1.Hope this helps

Yea its gona be a 383 stroker with the 241 castings and the cam specified above .Thats what power range I was thinking i just wasnt sure. I was goin look forward to see more but i definatley am goin to change the heads.I picked up the heads for 200 dollars which is an awesome deal and upgrade from what i had before.
