Its looks like a good cam, with good street manners.......on a 112lsa it should be noticable but not an aggressive lobe like other cams, that all depends on your exhaust set up and your tune

I'm running a 228/230 on a 110 lsa and it isnt to rough. The rhoads lifters help some though. The car runs strong. Havent dyno'd it yet though, I'm too busy breaking stuff. I might get to the dyno when I get my trans back together.

You got Rhoads lifters, Cool
What RPM do they start to load up at? How much are they for a LS1?

Do they actually work? My dad talks about them all the time but I never really payed him any attention. The "idea" seems good but in the real world I don't know. I didn't know they made them for LS engine's. Do tell.

I only have my opinion and conjecture on how good the work. First though, they sound like the car has a solid lifter cam in it. They are noisy, but they dont cause any false knock retard. I had an issue with running in a low octane table last year but it turned out that my knock sensors were bad, rusty, with corroded terminals. Replaced them and absolutely no knock picked up by HP Tuners or the PCM. My tuner was very surprised on how much idle vacuum I had and how smooth the car ran on 110 split. The lifters themselves are nicely finished and are packaged well with easy instructions on how to adjust them. Rather than how far down you compress them, they are adjusted by how far off bottom they are, I'm also running compcams adj. rockers BTW. They are advertised to give full lift at 3,500 RPM. I would only be guessing on what RPM I'm getting full lift but the car has good power down low and it pulls real hard on top. This is also considering that I'm running 225 AFRs and a Fast90/90. As soon as I get the trans back in, I plan on taking it in to be dyno'd. I'd definitely recomend them as I like the sound and I've put 30,000 of hard daily driving abuse on them. Mine are definitely a quality product.

Running this cam as well & love it... Has a decent idle & great street manners.. It also comes stock with 4* advance ground in, pretty much pulls hard off idle up to 6500.. I had a torquer v2 & a xer 224/228 cam before & can't believe how much stronger my car feels with this cam with a less aggressive lobe.. Definately a great cam for the money & would put it up against any xer cam with similar specs.

^ I wish you had track time/mph vs those other cams. I have hard time believing it would be noticeably different from your 224/228 XER. But that's good to hear. How much are they going for?

I think I paid $270 for mine new & I know it's weird to hear that this cam feels better over an xer cam, trust me i was suprised as you... The 224/228 & the trick flow were about neck & neck low/mid range, but the trickflow feels a bit better up top.

How does it compare to the TSP 228/228 .588"/.588"?

Probably close to the same. The tfs cam just has 2more degrees on the exhaust.

Quick Reply: anyone ever ran a trick flow 228/230 cam with 585 lift
