Default Oil consumption for LS1?

I go through 1 quart about every 3,000 miles...I am not sure if this is normal, but, 85% of my driving is done on the freeway...I am running Mobil 1 syn. 10W 30...How much oil do you guys burn?

That's pretty damn close or maybe a little better than my 2001 M6. Last year when I was driving a windy road to work every day and hauling around every curve, it was one quart every 1100 miles. I'm getting ready to do the LS6 PCV conversion soon.

...if your doing a ls6 valey cover conversion soon, i suggest not cutting the engine block....

...i did mine recently without engine block cutting and it works great....

you need to (i) cut a 2" piece of plastic out of the new valley cover oil separator where it intereres with the engine block, and (ii) splice in a 4" piece of small copper tubbing using PVC silicone puddy to block any air passages between the plastic and copper tubing...

Thanks for the comments on the LS6 PVC mod, guys! I guess I'll wait 'till I'm in there to decide how to do it. I really have no problem with cutting metal; a small die grinder will make short work outa that!

Cal:
...yeh, but hopefully the metal shavings you leave in your engine don't make short work of your motor!!!
