cats off the camaro help please hey whats up guys..i have a question ive been wanting to cut off my cats of my car(98 z28) i did all the searches for o2 simulators and im certain now that they have been banned and are illegal..which im sure you all know lol...how can i go about cutting them off without having the check engine light come on..cant i just leave the o2 sensors connected in the pipe or or will there still be a problem with the car reading to rich or lean.........if i do have to take it to a tune shop how much do you think they will charge to turn off the codes if thats how they do it...i dont really know! thanks for the help guys..oh yea how much extra hp do you think ill pick up...
If you leave the rear sensors in the pipe after the cats are gone, you will still get a code, and the car performance will deteriorate. You should be able to send your PCM to a tuner and have them turned off for $100 or less.
