Yeah, my shortblock from MTI was $4800 which included oil pump, double roller timing chain, X1 cam, all covers, etc. As I mentioned before it was a stock rod block, and otherwise the same as what Terry mentioned above.

hmmm.....ok...looks like it might be a little more than I exspected.....(about $1000 more)......"sigh"....

thanks for the heads up guys.....I guess I need to sit down and go over the cost of all the parts I want and then go from there....


two questions:

1) I'm planning on reusing the ARP 12 point head studs I have in my current engine (~10K miles)...anyone see a problem with that (shouldn't be....).

2) Billet Main Caps......at what point do they become useful? Considering I'm shooting for max 650HP out of the engine. Are they worth the extra $450?
