I would measure first then make decisions on what to do (maybe nothing). Like I stated earlier, the springs are excellent but you have to work within the parameters of their design. A valve spring height micrometer is an essential tool in my opinion. Only thing to watch, if you are over 1.800 (or think you are), make sure you buy one with enough range just in case. Some top out at 1.800.

I've decided to bite the bullet and have ordered the patriot Extreme valve springs, the guy who is buying my current cam can have the PSI's, they only have around 60 miles on them. So with my balanced Eagle crank and H rods, ARP bolts, what is safe revs? Just want to know so i can rev it on the rolling road till peak happens.

You will need a different valve spring locator to use those springs on the Dart's. The locators that come with those springs have a .505 ID and the Dart valve guide has a .560 OD. I had the same issue installing Crane 144833 springs on my 225's and had to get the correct spring locators from Alan Futral at Futral Motorsports. I don't know the inner spring ID on the Patriot extreme's, so you will have to do some research to find the correct locators.

It's always something....

Gunnar at Partiot has the correct locators for the larger dart guides and will (or should I say has) sent them with the spring sets. Just an FYI.

I've been in touch with Patriot and they have a spring locator that has a larger ID that will work with the heads, Cheers 405 for the tip off!

Better to find the issue now than have suprises when your trying to get the car together. Glad it all worked out!
