With the right size/big cam, a 427 should defintitely make 510rwhp under good conditions.

I have a block for sell that comes honed, new hardened Dura-Bond cam bearings, and new ARP main studs. Some people think the dry sleeves are better than the wet sleeves. I called Darton who makes the dry sleeves for Agostino racing and the wet sleeves. The tec said the wet sleeves are far better and can take more abuse, and that the dry sleeves are milled very thin to get a 4.125" bore. He said Darton has been using wet sleeves for years in motors that make over 1000 hp with out any problems. Also with the wet sleeves you get better heat transfer. Morgan Machine Shop are setting the motor up for me. Naturally aspirated cars with 427 CI are running the ¼ mile the low to mid 10's, with NOS there hitting the mid to hi 9's. Why aren't they meant for racing? What's the point of a $100,000 Camaro if you can't race it. There are plenty of people with far more exclusive and expensive cars that actually race them. Owning a Camaro and being snobby about it doesn't quite work. Try pulling up to an exclusive country club and pulling that ****. The members would probably be thinking something like - Look at that Jethro, thinks it's a Ferrari!!! F-bodies are meant to race, drive and have fun with. They are not exactly status symbols.

Yup, you too. The 02 ZL1s, while QUITE capable of being raced and running the #, are more than simply a race car. They are collectible. How much is your 00Z gonna be worth in 5 years even with 100 coats of Zaino? I know the ZL1s will still be gaining value

BTW - I'm sure the fit and finish of the interior and exterior of the ZL1 matches a Ferrari's. It's still a Camaro, jack ***, so get over it.

I just saw two of these in Grand Rapids Michigan at Berger Chevrolet. Both had 600hp written on the side and were automatics.
