Unhappy About to give up!!!

Well, I just got done replacing the oil pump and the oil pan gasket in my car. Well the oil pump is good but after the ride home, I look underneath the car and Im still leaking f%^*ng oil in the back of the oil pan on the passengers side!!! Its enough to **** me off. I already replaced the rear main seal and rear cover gasket also!! Sorry just needed to rant!! Dont know what else to do. Oh yeah, also, im very good about changin the oil in frequent intervals. When i dropped the pan, I couldnt believe how much sludge there was in there. No metal flakes or anything like that, so I guess that was a good sign. Ok, now im done!

Just about the only thing that comes to mind is that the oil pan gasket itself is bad. Have you checked you don't have a leak up top in the back of the valve covers. It could be there and oil is just dribbling down to the area where you're seeing it under the car.

Did you recently do a cam swap or have the engine out? The reason I ask is the front and rear covers have to be aligned so they're perfectly flush with the block because the oil pan seals to them too.

I had the valley cover that was leaking and I took care of that last saturday. I looked before i put the oil pan on that everything was aligned the best it could be. I didnt know that there was an freeze plug in the crankshaft. I retightened the bolts again to see if that might do something. I will see tomorrow how it goes. Its driving me nuts. This is the only part its leaking from now....

When you replaced the rear cover gasket did you use rtv where the rear cover and the oil pan come together at the corner where the rear cover gasket ends? Also did you tighten down the rear cover bolts first or the oil pan bolts first?

I replaced the rear cover and rear main seal together about a month ago. I did the oil pan gasket and front cover gasket yesterday. I did use RTV but i dont think that I used enough. Im gonna loosen the pan again and put some more RTV in it and see if that cures the problem. Wont be able to get to it till monday.
