rebuild 346 or stroke it.....
a) remove my factory shortblock and add forged rods/pistons new bearings and rings
or:
b) buy a 396cid short block
Option B is about $2000(with new cam) more than option A but the 51 extra cubic inches would be offset by 75 lbs of the iron 6.0 block. What should I do?

Is this going to be with Shirl's out of the box stock crank set up that you mentioned on the C5 forum a couple of months ago?

Stroke it.I just went through this same decision 2 days ago. After talking to the engine builders I am going with a 408.Using callies crank, eagle rods and diamond pistons. Then put a little juice on top of it.

How much will that cost for the shortblock ?
